Andrew Bowen

Andrew Bowen is an award-winning multimedia journalist based in San Diego, Calif. He now works as the metro reporter for KPBS, the public radio and TV station in San Diego, covering housing, transportation, cannabis and local government.

Bowen is originally from the small city of Santa Rosa, an hour north of San Francisco, in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country. He studied journalism and Spanish at Northwestern University, then moved to Germany to work for Deutsche Welle, Germany’s international public broadcaster.

When not working or listening to podcasts, Andrew can be found biking, hiking, camping or moving recyclable materials from trash cans to their proper receptacles. He loves getting to know new cultures and people, he speaks Spanish, German and Portuguese and has had the great fortune of visiting more than 30 countries on five continents.
